There is a building proposed for the empty lot at the corner of 19th and Mississippi Street, at 1200-19th Street, that will be 4 stories (3 stories and penthouse) in front and 5 stories (with garage) in back, due to the slope. The height in back will be over 50 feet.
There will be a meeting at the lot on the corner this Tuesday, September 9, 6:00 PM to discuss the project. At this meeting there will be a balloon or balloons to show the “approximate” height of the dormers (not peak of roof). Word is that these balloon or balloons will only be up for the duration of the meeting. It might be worth your while to take a look. I urge you to email the planner, Tim Frye, with any and all comments. His
email is: tim.frye@sfgov. org
Here’s the text from the flyer that went out to some of us. Note that story poles, rather than balloons were requested.
“Please join us to discuss the proposal for 1200-19th Street. Mary Jane Mikuriya, the Discretionary Review applicant, has requested that the project sponsor place balloons on the subject property to reflect an approximate height of the proposed building. Color perspectives of the proposed building will also be provided. Please join us! Tuesday, September 9, 2008 @ 6:00 PM at 1200-19th Street. For more information, please contact Tony Kim at 415-246-8855. ”
