TWO Plan Potrero Hill meetings this week!
WEDNESDAY July 18 at 6.30 pm, and SATURDAY July 21 at 9.30 am!
at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, 953 De Haro Street at Southern Heights.

We’re in the home stretch of our neighborhood planning process, and NOW is the time to speak up about what you want to see in a future Potrero Hill!

This week, we’ll bring back the Dept. of Public Health’s Healthy Development Measurement Tool and evaluate what might be in store for our neighborhood.

Also on Wednesday, Ken Rich (from the Planning Department’s Eastern Neighborhoods Program) and a guest from the City’s Recreation and Parks Department will join us to tell us of progress in the open-space portion of our area plan.

And on Saturday, we will return to Affordable Housing, and protecting jobs in Showplace Square and the Central Waterfront, with Planning Department folks and guest Calvin Welch.

Be there to find out what’s in the works, and to speak your mind!

Wednesday, July 18 - 6.30 to 9.00 pm

On July 25th at 5:00, the Port will hold a Pier 70 Master Plan Community
Workshop at Pier 1. This Community Workshop is the first of a series of
workshops to solicit input from the community and stake-holders on the Pier
70 Master Plan. The workshop will review: the Master Planning process and
schedule; previous planning efforts undertaken for Pier 70; planning goals
and objectives; and the site opportunities and constraints. Additionally,
the Port will review and seek comment on the work completed to date
including the Historical Analysis of the Pier 70 structures and facilities,
the Environmental Analysis and the Economic and Master Planning assessment.

Please find attached the meeting notice and agenda for the July 25th Pier
70 Master Plan Community Workshop. We are preparing a document that will
provide some background on the Pier 70 area, including the previous
planning efforts that have taken place, the Planning goals and objectives
established thus far and an overview of the work completed to date. We will
distribute the document and post it on the web site by July 18th.

This meeting is scheduled on the same day that the Southern Waterfront
Advisory Committee meeting is typically held and during the same time that
the Central Waterfront Advisory Group meeting is typically held so as to
provide the maximum opportunity for participation by committee members and
interested Citizens.

We have created a Pier 70 Master Planning web site within the Port’s web
site, which already has some background information on Pier 70, the address
is: http://www.sfport.com/site/port_page.asp?id=34925

Please contact David Beaupre in Planning and Development if you have any
questions or comments regarding the Pier 70 Master Planning process.

Please forward this e-mail to anyone you think may be interested in the
Pier 70 Planing project.

Thank you,

Dear Neighbors,

As you know, UCSF has convened a Mission Bay Community Task Force to examine the impact of UCSF on the communities surrounding the UCSF Mission Bay campus. This process is separate from the hospital design process, and focuses on UCSF’s space needs around, not on, our Mission Bay research campus and hospital sites.

By the end of this calendar year, the Task Force will identify community issues related to UCSF development in the Mission Bay area, and will develop a set of community planning principles that will be used in drafting an amendment to UCSF’s long range development plan.

Task Force members represent neighborhood organizations from Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, South of Market, and the Mission District. The San Francisco Planning Department and the Port of San Francisco are also represented.

The Task Force has met twice so far and conducted a community workshop on June 18. The July 11 task force meeting will focus on community issues raised at all 3 of these meetings, and will begin to cover potential solutions and planning principles as well.

Please join us at the next meeting of the UCSF Mission Bay Community Task Force:

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

6:30-9:00

UCSF Mission Bay campus
Genentech Hall, 600 16th Street
Room 114

The UCSF Mission Bay campus is accessible using the MUNI T-Third line. If you drive, please park at no cost in the surface lot (near the UCSF Police Station); this lot can be reached by taking 16th Street to 4th Street . Complimentary parking is not available in the garages. Please bring photo id to show at the building security desk.

For Task Force roster, background information, past meeting agendas and presentations, please see http://community.ucsf.edu/MBCTF_RelatedDocs.html

Sincerely,

BB
